About me

My journey into the counselling profession began following volunteering in various helping fields, including advocacy, youth work and mentoring. During this time I discovered a local training course, where I encountered the elegant work of Dr. Carl Rogers and the Person-Centred Approach. This marked the beginning of a transformative and fulfilling path.

The journey has not always been smooth nor easy, I recognise from my own experience that connecting to one's inner world can be challenging. In the past, my ‘disconnect’ manifested as OCD, depression, anxiety, chaos, unhealthy habits, insomnia, numbness, and lethargy. Perhaps why, being a helping professional has been so important to me.

At this point ‘in time’ (2025) Flourish is eight years old, having set-up around the same time I began teaching Counselling Training. Throughout this time I have continued study, gaining my teaching qualification, ecotherapy certificate, polyvagal trauma training, couples certificate, supervision certificate, and EMDR training. Presently I am studying a PGCert in Psychological Trauma at Chester University.

For context, I identify as female. am cisgender of mixed British and North African heritage.
